Supplements that helps to burn fat

7 Fat Burners To Help You Lose Weight

There’s a huge international market surrounding weight loss. You can buy supplements — in the form of tablets, capsules, liquids and powders — containing ingredients said to help speed up the metabolism and burn fat.

However, choosing the right option for you can be overwhelming, so we want to tell you about seven available fat burners and how they work.

Hopefully, armed with more information, you’ll then be able to make the right choice for your body, and achieve the weight loss goals you’ve been wishing for.

Garcinia cambogia extract

This tropical fruit is a popular weight loss supplement. It has a number of different names including Assam Fruit, Gorakkapulli, Panampulli, Manda Huli, Goraka Pulli, Mangosteen, and Vadakkan Puli.

Garcinia cambogia is said to contain B vitamins thiamin, folic acid and niacin, magnesium, vitamin c, manganese, potassium. It also has an active ingredient, called hydroxycitric acid (HCA).

B vitamins play an important role in cell metabolism. Thiamin (or vitamin B1) helps to break down and release energy from food, while keeping the nervous system healthy — so it’s a great ingredient to have in a weight loss supplement. But you can also find it in peas, fruit, eggs, wholegrain breads, certain breakfast cereal and liver.

Thiamin can’t be stored in your body, and even though most people’s diets should provide enough, a top-up could be beneficial — especially for those trying to shed a few extra pounds. Health experts recommend a maximum of 100g of thiamin each day.

Niacin, or vitamin B3, plays a major role in helping your body release energy from food, so it’s an important ingredient if you plan to start an exercise regime. It also helps the body recover from everyday strains.

Niacin is proven to boost the nervous system and skin health. You can also find it in protein-rich foods, such as meat, fish, eggs, milk and wheat flour. There are potential dangers of ingesting too much niacin, such as skin flushes and liver damage.

Folic acid improves the health of red blood cells — which are key to building muscle, improving athletic performance, and supporting a generally strong and healthy body. So if you’re about to hit the gym, a boost of folic acid could give you an extra push and help you work out for longer.

Studies using garcinia cambogia have seen varying weight loss results. One study of 130 people, where some used the pill and others used a placebo, showed no provable difference. However, research in 2011 of 12 studies suggested the pill helped users lose an average of two pounds over several weeks.

If you want to buy garcinia cambogia online, the most you should pay for 500mg is about $35. You can get it cheaper from lesser-known companies, but you should consider how reliable and safe they are.

2. Lorcaserin: the ‘holy grail’ of fat fighting

In August 2018, results of a successful trial of a new weight loss pill were released. Researchers announced they’d discovered a product that could help people lose weight without the worry of serious heart problems.

Lorcaserin, currently marketed as ‘Belviq’, was developed by Arena Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company based in California.

There’s been an outburst of excitement following the publication of the trial’s results, which involved 12,000 overweight and obese people. In the trial, one group took the lorcaserin pill, while another group took a dummy pill.

The study showed no significant difference in the number of heart-related issues between the two groups over an average period of more than three years.

In fact, more negative heart-related events per year were recorded in the placebo group (2.1%) than the group who took the pill (2%).

It’s worth noting though that there were more cases of significant hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, in the lorcaserin group, with 13 people to 4, although it’s not confirmed if this was due to the pill or simply a coincidence.

The trial results showed that active participants lost a significant amount of weight on average, at an impressive 4.2kg over 40 months — compared to a much lower 1.4kg in the placebo group.

Some 1,986 (38.7%) of 5,135 participants who were given lorcaserin lost at least 5% of their body weight compared to 883 (17.4%) out of 5,083 in the dummy group.

Tam Fry, a member of Britain’s National Obesity Forum, said: “I think it is the thing everybody has been looking for. I think there will be several holy grails, but this is a holy grail and one which has been certainly at the back of the mind of a lot of specialists for a long time.”

He added that although the new pill was exciting, its successful use depends on a healthy and active lifestyle.

3. Caffeine

Caffeine, in small doses, can help us wake up in the morning or keep working until late, and can make us feel more energetic before a workout.

However, weight loss products that contain caffeine use much larger amounts than found in a regular coffee, with the intention of creating a more extreme, beneficial result.

It’s widely believed that caffeine has a performance-enhancing effect that can not only aid athletes and bodybuilders but anyone who’s trying to lose weight; especially when using exercise as a key tool.

Studies have shown that athletes saw an improvement in performance of at least 20% just one hour after consuming 330 mg of caffeine.

Caffeine can increase the body’s release of certain hormones, such as adrenaline, so it can break down fat and use it for energy. Good news for weight loss, right?

One study of the effect of caffeine on weight loss, using just 10 healthy people, showed an increase in the breakdown of fats ‘by stimulating the sympathetic nervous system and increasing lipolysis’.

4. Guarana

Guarana is a plant that contains caffeine and is used for weight loss, increased athletic performance, alertness and even as an aphrodisiac.

It is said to stimulate the nervous system, including the heart and muscles. Some sources say that it can be particularly effective as a weight loss tool when taken with mate tea and damiana.

Moreover, research suggests that using guarana in a product also containing ephedra and 17 other vitamins and minerals, could produce weight loss of around 2.7kg in the space of just eight weeks, as long as its use is accompanied by regular exercise and a low-fat diet.

5. Green coffee bean extract

These are essentially regular coffee beans that haven’t been roasted. Their caffeine and chlorogenic acid are supposed to aid weight loss. Three studies suggested it could cause weight loss of 2.5kg.

Some studies have suggested the extract can limit the absorption of carbohydrates in the digestive tract, potentially reducing excessive blood sugar levels, although in healthy people, the body’s insulin does this job.

Travis Lane Stork, a host on TV’s The Doctors, gave ‘The Real Deal’ about the extract on the show. You can see a clip in this YouTube video

6. Green tea extract

Although green tea extract contains some caffeine, it also harbours an antioxidant, called epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG for short.

It is believed to help the user burn fat. What’s more, studies have indicated green tea extract can increase fat burning specifically in the belly area, so it could be ideal for those who aren’t overweight but just want a flatter stomach.

7. Phen375

RDK Global, the creators of Phen375, say the supplement can suppress hunger, boost your metabolism and help you burn fat. Other benefits noted include increased energy throughout the day and an improved ability to build muscle.

Another advertised advantage of Phen375 is that it can help you resist cravings, which can be especially helpful for those of you with a sweet tooth or other bad eating habits.

Phen375 isn’t cheap at around $64 for one bottle with 30 tablets and reported side effects include dizziness and insomnia. Check out our review on Phen375 Diet pills for further information.

Eat more to lose weight

What if we told you you don’t have to take diet pills or supplements to burn fat, but you can lose weight by eating more?

Well, we’re not saying you should start ordering fast food five times a week, but the metabolism works in mysterious ways and there’s something you should know.

First of all, it’s vital that you refuel your body with adequate food and nutrients after exercising. It’s widely accepted that eating regular, good-sized, healthy meals plays a major factor whether you’re exercising to lose weight or to stay in shape.

Boosting your protein intake has been shown to have a significant impact on weight loss. There’s evidence to suggest eating more protein-rich foods or supplements can help you lose up to 100 extra calories each day, possibly due to the energy it takes to digest. Turkey and chicken are just two examples of healthy sources of protein.

Plus, proteins can keep any excessive cravings at bay, reducing the temptation to eat unnecessary meals by 60%, and halving your need for a late-night treat.

All in all, adding more protein to your diet can help you drop more than 400 calories each day.

Take your pick

There are lots more so-called fat burners out there to try and different ways to lose weight. We’ve just informed you of the seven that we think are most relevant and effective.

So, if you think fat-burners are your best way to lose weight, first make sure to research different options and speak to your doctor before taking anything.

Remember: your health and safety is the most important thing.
